Octo Telematics Service Centre (OSC) is a customised, up-to-date service hub offering enhanced telematic services for car- and mobile phone owners.

Octo Telematics runs and developed the OSC platform; it is an example of high-profile architecture for communications and tracking applications.
This architecture is founded entirely on web technology, ensuring it is flexible, scalable and secure; it has an easy-to-use interface, can be maintained and provides simple migration.
OSC's structure was designed to operate with portable equipment that works with GPS, GSM/GPRS technology and an accelerometer, like the MetaSAT RC.
The centre offers two service categories:
STANDARD Telematic Services -
security, post-theft tracking, emergency breakdown or medical assistance, alarm and assistance after a crash, fleet management;
ENHANCED Telematic Services -
collection of data for insurance purposes, traceability, vehicle deployment (time and place), recovery and analysis of crash data, remote diagnostics.
The enhanced services are mainly of interest to insurance companies. In actual fact, many insurers are already offering these services to their customers.
By combining these services with the enabled equipment, detailed parameters can be obtained relating to the actual deployment of the vehicle and the exact level of risk of each policy holder, so that insurers can profile each of their customers with "ad hoc" precision based on their actual driving.
All OSC's features and functions can be accessed with any of the standard browsers (IE, Netscape, Mozilla) by connecting up to Octo's website: www.octotelematics.com.
Each consumer can access their own specific area on the website after entering their user ID and password.
