“Industria 2015” – Meta System: a partner in two innovative projects.
The Sustainable Mobility Tender of the “Industria 2015” Programme, promoted by the Italian Ministry of Economic Development, launched incentives totalling 180 million euro that will activate another 500 million worth of investments in 22 innovative sustainable mobility projects. Meta System is included among the partners of “PEGASUS” and “IQMMTM”, two of the important research projects that have received approval for public funding.
The “PEGASUS” project coordinated by Octo Telematics, a company within the MetaSystem Group, was designed to manage urban mobility through info-telematics systems; capable of providing for the protection of passengers, vehicles and goods. The goal of PEGASUS – which arises from Octo Telematics’ experience in the development of telematics applications for auto insurance and in the management of a wide fleet of vehicles equipped with telematics systems at a European level - is the creation of an integrated info-telematics platform for a sustainable and secure management of people, vehicles and goods within urban areas that are highly congested with traffic, polluted and have restricted access to historical zones. The platform will be based on the real-time collection and elaboration of data obtained from vehicles, infrastructures and their ensuing interactions, and be drawn on for an improved management of mobility in urban and peri-urban areas. A public-private consortium lead by Octo Telematics is in charge of carrying out the project and is composed of: Meta System Spa, also part of MetaSystem Group, ENEA the Italian National Agency for New Technologies, Energy and Environment, CONSORZIO MIDRA, IPRE Srl, SITECO INFORMATICA Srl, AVMAP Srl, INFOBLU Spa, T.S.F. - TELE SISTEMI FERROVIARI Spa, ALMA MATER , The Research Centre for Information and Telecommunication Systems – CNR Area of Bologna, RAPTECH Srl, The Luigi Galvani Interdepartment Center of the Bologna University, NETSENS Srl and I.T. STAFF Spa. The partners involved in the project as final users are: ATAC Spa – Mobility Agency in the Municipality of Rome, the Emilia-Romagna Region, the Province of Florence and the Municipality of Florence.
The “IQMMTM” project is headed by A.R.I.S. Spa and foresees the development of a multi-modal and multi-functional road quadri-cycle for the sustainable transportation of goods within historical areas. The partnership for carrying out the research project is made up of Meta System Spa, LOMBARDINI Srl , BEST MOTOR Srl, National Research Center Energy and Transport Department, SCIRE, DELL'ORTO Spa, ZAPI Spa, RE:LAB Srl and ZIVAN Srl.
